Covid-19: 19 deaths, 1329 fresh cases reported in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed 19 fresh deaths related to Covid-19, taking the total number of deaths due to dreaded virus to 914. In addition to the deaths 1,329 fresh cases of covid-19 infections including 69 travelers were reported taking the total number of positive cases to 56,654.
Of the total 56,654 cases, 37,688 are from Kashmir and 18,966 from Jammu division. They said that among 1,329 new cases, 558 belong to Kashmir division while as 741 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 37,688 including 28,678 recoveries and 740 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 18,966 including 8,384 recoveries and 174 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 18,678 including 8,270 from Kashmir division and 10,408 from Jammu division.
With 681 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 37,062 which is 65.41 percent of the total cases which was over 78 percent few day before.
Interestingly, for the first time since Covid-19 outbreak, active cases have reached over 18,500 in J&K and active cases in Jammu division are more than recovered cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 148 from Srinagar, 1277 from Budgam, 20 from Baramulla, 70 from Pulwama, 57 from Anantnag, 43 from Kupwara, 38 from Bandipora, 15 from Kulgam, 59 from Ganderbal and 11 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 837 from Jammu division include 254 from Jammu, 51 from Udhampur, 105 from Rajouri , 62 from Kuthua, 31 from Samba, 38 from Poonch, 26 from Ramban, 114 from Doda, 15 from Reasi and 45 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
Interestingly, in last 24 hours, 19 persons who were tested positive for Covid-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and 14 from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include 03 from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla and Kupwara in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu division include seven from Jammu district, two each from Udhampur, Ramban and Doda and one from Kuthua.
As per officials figures, 11,942 positive cases including 255 deaths and 9,784 recoveries are from Srinagar, 3,947 including 73 deaths and 2,397 recoveries are from Budgam, 3,517 including 2,445 recoveries and 114 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,274 including 2,722 recoveries and 62 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,976including 54 deaths and 2,196 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,906 including 1,915 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,921cases including 1,932 and 29 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,093 including 1,940 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Kulgam, 2,205 including 1,642 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Ganderbal and 1,892 including 1,703 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 8,998 including 2,882 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Jammu district, 1,559 including 853 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Udhampur, 1,626 including 856 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,422 including 924 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Kathua, 1135 including 627 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Samba, 995 including 432 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Poonch, 865 including 653 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Ramban, 1,053 including 462 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Doda, 632 including 374 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Reasi and 681 including 321 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 527,802 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 34,530 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 18,678 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 413,382 persons have completed surveillance period and 60,298 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,270,310 samples are available.
Out of 1,270,310 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,213,656 while 56,654 have tested positive, among them 18,678 are active and 37,688 persons have recovered. (with inputs from KNO)
