Covid positive Shopkeeper booked for operating business in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: Police booked a shopkeeper who despite testing Covid-l9 positive operated his business putting the lives of people at risk.
Police said that the shopkeeper identified as Jalal-ud-din Najar son of Mohammad Sidiq Najar resident of Giraj Ganderbal, violated the SOP’s and guidelines issued by the District Administration and opened his shop at Taj Complex Beehama Ganderbal.
According to a police official, the shopkeeper as per the guidelines had to home quarantine himself to prevent the spread of disease but he failed to do so.
“To this effect police registered a case FIR No. 196/2020 under section 269, 270 IPC against the shopkeeper”, the official added.
Meanwhile SSP Ganderbal , Khalil Ahmad Poswal taking serious note of these violations have again urged the people of District to follow the set SOP’s / guidelines issued by the Administration in letter and spirit.
He warned of strict action against any violators as per the law.
