Burglars loot around six shops in Sopore

Sopore, Sep 04: Taking undue advantage of ongoing night restrictions in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, burglars during the intervening night struck in different markets of Sopore town and looted around six shops decamping with goods and valuables worth lakhs.

Reports said that burglars looted the Dupatta, gift and ready-made shops of Fayaz Ahmad Shah, John Mohammad Parray and Muhammad Iqbal Rather at Main Chowk area of Sopore and decamped with valuables worth lakhs.

In a similar incident two mobile shops at Iqbal market and one electronic shop at Ttehsil road Sopore was also looted.

Reports said that the burglars had also damaged several shutters of the shops and even broken their locks.

Meanwhile, police has taken cognizance of these burglary incidents and investigations have been taken up, a police official said.

Meanwhile, President Sopore Economic Alliance, President Haji Muhammad Ashraf Ganaie urged the administration and police to check these incidents and book the culprits under law.
