Month after burial body of Central Kashmir youth exhumed
Budgam: After the administration permitted the exhumation of the body of a youth who died in the first week of August last month, a team led by Naib Tehsildar in presence of police exhumed the body amid protest in Surisyar Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Pertinently, on 5 August last month, a youth identified as Sajad Ahmad Dar son of Muhammad Sidiq Dar of Surasyar area of Chadura died at his home after playing cricket for the whole day with his friends. He was buried at his native graveyard in Surasyar. After his death, family doubted that his friends might have forced him to consume some drugs and that might have resulted in his death.
To ascertain the cause of his death, they wanted the body to be exhumed so that a postmortem could be conducted on it.
The family had approached District Development Commissioner Budgam with a request to exhume the body. The family in an application had stated that they haves strong suspicion over his two friends, one is a driver who hails from Sursyar and another from Gund Chadoora.
Sources said that in order to ascertain the cause of death, the District Development Commissioner had granted permission and on Wednesday a team of doctors along with forensic experts in presence of civil and police administration exhumed the body.
The body was taken to PHC Chadoora where a medical team and FSL teams conducted the post mortem.
Sources said that the relatives and family members of the deceased youth staged a protest when the exhumation process was in progress.
The protesters blocked the Kralpora-Chadoora road and accused police of inaction. They demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
Later, police and civil administration officials rushed to spot and pacified the protesters assuring them action immediately after the outcome of the post mortem. (KNT)
