Covid-19: Fresh restrictions imposed in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL: District Administration Ganderbal on Friday ordered fresh restrictions for a week owing to spurt in Covid-19 positive cases in the district.
An order in this regard was issued by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal on Friday Evening which states that there shall be complete restrictions in the district w.e.f. 29th August (Saturday) to 5th September (Saturday).
An order in this regard was issued by Deputy commissioner Ganderbal, Shafaqat Iqbal which reads as Whereas, there is continuous surge in number of Covid-19 positive cases in Ganderbal from last few days and whereas it has been reported that public unnecessarily throng to the markets and violate the SOPs / advisories in vogue,and whereas, due to spike in Covid-19 positive cases and non-adherence to SOPs/ advisories the Ganderbal residents have become susceptible of Covid-19.
“Therefore, in view of above, I Shafaqat Iqbal (KAS), District Magestrates Ganderbal in exercise of powers vested in me under the Epidemic Disease Act,1897, the Disaster management act, 2005 and section 144 CrPc, do hereby order that there shall be complete restrictions in district Ganderbal w.e.f. 29th August 2020 till 5th September 2020 except for the medical emergencies/ Essential Services,” the order further reads.
The order further reads that any person found violating the directions shall be booked under relevant law.
The Police authorities/Executive Magestrates have been directed to enforce the order in their respective jurisdictions.
Meanwhile, 38 fresh COVID-19 positive cases were reported from the district taking the active positive cases to 580 with 744 recoveries and 19 deaths.
