Sgr-Leh highway closed due to bad weather

GANDERBAL: Due to landslide followed by torrential rains, the traffic on strategic Srinagar-Leh Highway was temporarily suspended on Thursday as a precautionary measure.
A traffic police official told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that Srinagar-Leh Highway was temporarily closed on Thursday afternoon as a precautionary measure following landslides at few places due to the heavy rains along the Zojila pass.
He said all types of vehicular movement on the highway was stopped from Sonamarg towards Drass.
“Traffic will be resumed subject to fair weather and road conditions,” the official added.
