Eight deaths, 428 fresh Covid-19 cases reported in JK
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported eight more covid-19 related deaths since overnight, taking the fatality count due to the virus to 633.
Among the victims, official sources said that three were residents of Kupwara, two from Budgam, as many from Pulwama and one from Bandipora.
They said a 70-year-old woman from Noorpora Tral in Pulwama district died during wee hours at SMHS hospital, 13 days after she was admitted and diagnosed with bilateral community acquired pneumonia.
A 65-year-old man from Lapora Kupwara, they said, was brought to SMHS hospital in wee hours and doctors declared him death on arrival. He was a covid positive and was referred to the hospital from GMC Baramulla, the sources said.
A 70-year-old woman from Lolab Kupwara who was admitted as a case of bilateral community acquired pneumonia, hypertension and ARDS died two weeks after she was admitted to the hospital, they said.
Also a covid-19 positive man from Kralpora Kupwara having underlining ailments died at the hospital in Srinagar, officials at Kupwara said.
A woman from Khanda Budgam died three days after she was admitted to SKIMS Soura and her swab sample was detected as positive for covid-19 at the diagnostic laboratory of the hospital, they said.

Sources said that a 45-year-old man Pinglen Pulwama died five days after he was admitted to the CD hospital, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of the covid-19.
Officials said that one person from Bandipora also died due to covid-19.
With these deaths, 586 people have died in Kashmir Valley and 47 from Jammu.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir reported 428 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 67 travelers taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 33,075. Of the total cases, 25,801 are from Kashmir and 7,274 were from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 428 new cases, 274 belong to Kashmir division while as 154 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 25,801 including 19,508 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 7,274 including 5,697 recoveries and 47 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,246 including 5,716 from Kashmir division and 1,530 from Jammu division. With 373 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 25,205 which is 76.20 percent of the total cases. Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 8,151 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 7,274.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 78 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 14 from Pulwama, 27 from Budgam, 14 from Anantnag, 11 from Kulgam, 06 from Shopian, 25 from Kupwara, 65 from Bandipora and 25 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 154 from Jammu division include 65 from Jammu, 12 from Rajouri, 14 from Kuthua, 19 from Udhampur, 06 from Ramban, 15 from Samba, 04 from Doda, 12 from Poonch, 02 from Reasi and 05 from Kishtiwar,” the officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 8,151 positive cases including 197 deaths and 6,601 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,649 including 98 deaths and 1,975 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,329 including 1,858 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,157 including 1,544 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Budgam, 2,102 including 45 deaths and 1,585 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,850 including 1,571 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,631 cases including 1,506 and 27 deaths are from Shopian, 1,839 including 1,236 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,886 including 1,022 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,207 including 610 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 2,387 including 1,702 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Jammu district, 832 including 744 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 744 including 615 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 731 including 625 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 642 including 620 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 646 including 440 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Samba, 374 including 309 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 364 including 298 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Poonch, 358 including 159 recoveries are from Reasi and 196 including 175 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 435,205 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 43,158 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,246 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 342,525 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,652 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 877,836 samples are available. Out of 877,836 the number of samples tested negative stands at 844,761 while 33,075 have been tested positive, among them 7,246 are active and 25,205 persons have recovered.
