Speeding truck crushes minor girl to death
KANGAN: In a heart wrenching accident, a minor girl was crushed to death by a speeding truck at Ganiwan Kangan on Thursday afternoon.
Reports said that a speeding LP truck bearing registration number JK01A-2124 on way to Srinagar from Kargil hit a minor girl identified as Aadiya Bano (8 year) Daughter of Mohammad Anwar Paswal Anwar on Srinagar-Leh highway, killing her on the spot.
Though she was immediately rushed to hospital however doctor declared her brought dead.
A Police Official while confirming the incident said that the vehicle has been seized besides the driver has also been arrested.
He said that a case has been registered in this regard.
Meanwhile, soon after the accident locals and family of the deceased girl held a strong protest demonstration and blocked Sgr-Leh highway. They were demanding stern action against the driver.
Later Police reached the spot and assured the protesters that action under law will be taken against the driver.
