Online education proves hoax for students in Tral village

Pulwama: Students in a Tral village are yet to join their online classes in absence of network connectivity in the area.
Pranigam, a village which is about 20 kilometers from Sub district headquarters Tral has no mobile or internet connectivity due to which the locals are suffering and the career of hundereds of students is getting affected.
Locals said that the students of the area have been out of touch with studies since March as they have not been able to join any class online or offline.
Students of the area said that have no means to get education as no one in the village is enough to teach the students.
“The lockdown announced after March this year meant that students have been staying away from education as no class work has been conducted,” said Mohammad Ashraf, a local resident.
Umar Ahmad a student of 6th class student said that few of some of their family members do posses small phones for emergency purposes.
“Our elders have to travel to other villages to get connected to the cell network and talk to people,” he said.
He added that they have no knowledge of what internet actually is because there is no network connectivity.
Fazil Ahmad, an 11th class student said that he recently missed his golden test examination because of the lack of communication facilities.
“In absence of internet and phone connectivity, I got information about the exam when it was already conducted. I couldn’t appear in the examination despite having prepared for it,” he said.
Locals of the area said they besides network connectivity, the village has no road connectivity and health care facilities.
The residents of the area have demanded immediate intervention of higher authorities to bring basic facilities to their village at an earliest so that they can heave a sigh of relief.
