Baramulla standoff: Third militant reported killed, searches on
Srinagar, August 18: Security forces have claimed to have killed the third militant in an ongoing operation in Kreeri area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday.
Official sources said that after resuming operation in the morning, one more militant has been killed.
They said the slain militant is likely to be non-local and was hiding inside a hideout which was blasted using an IED.
Meanwhile, searches are still underway in the area till this report was being filed.
Pertinently, yesterday 06 persons were killed in the firefight including 02 CRPF troopers, 01 JK cop, 01 Army soldier and two local LeT militants.
Director General of police Dilbagh Singh yesterday during a press conference said that top LeT Commander Sajad Haider from Sopore was among the two slain militants. (GNS)
