Baramulla update: Fresh firing leads to killing of third militant, soldier injured
Baramulla, Aug 17: Fresh firing was reported at Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district in which third militant was killed while as a soldier was critically wounded.
Officials said that after extensive searches, fresh firing started in the orchards of Kreeri, Watergam area of Baramulla after security forces spotted a third militant. “After intense exchange of firing, he too was killed, taking the number of militants slain in the operation so far to three.
A soldier too sustained serious bullet wounds and he was referred to 92-base hospital Srinagar where his condition is stated to be critical,” the officials said.
Earlier, two militants were killed in the operation that was launched after the forces launched a massive cordon and search operation. The CASO was launched minutes after the killing of three security forces personnel—two CRPF men and a special police officer (SPO). (KNO)
