COVID-19: JK reports 19 more deaths, toll reaches 527

Srinagar: The death toll due to Novel Coronavirus has mounted to 527 in Jammu and Kashmir as nine more patients from the Valley, who were tested positive earlier, died on Friday at different hospitals.
Officials said that nine patients who died include a 65-year-old woman from Buchpora Srinagar, a 62-year-old man from Akingam Anantnag, a 70-year-old man from Gulab Bagh Srinagar, a 55-year-old woman from Kathi Darwaza Srinagar, an 85-year-old man from Sopore, a 60-year-old woman from Chanapora Srinagar, a 70-year-old man from Pattan Baramulla, a 70-year-old man Pampore Pulwama and a 65-year-old man from Batamallo Srinagar.
An official from SKIMS Soura said that a patient from Buchpora Srinagar who was admitted on 07 August, a patient from Akingam Anantnag who was admitted on 29 July, a patient from Gulab Bagh Srinagar who was admitted on 28 July, a patient from Kathi Darwaza who was admitted on 09 August and an 85-year-old man from Sopore who was admitted on 27 July died on Friday.
An official from SMHS said that a patient from Chanapora Srinagar who was admitted on 05 August, a patient from Pattan Baramulla who was admitted on 08 August with pneumonia, a patient from Pampore who was admitted on 06 August with pneumonia and a patient from Batamallo who was admitted on 04 August died on Friday.
He said that the patient from Pampore tested negative after his death.
With nine more deaths, the death toll in the Union Territory has reached to 527 including 488 from Kashmir division and 39 from Jammu division.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir recorded 540 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 60 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases to 27,489. Of the total 27489 positive cases, 21,320 are from Kashmir and 6,169 from Jammu division.
Officials said that that among 540 new cases, 421 belong to Kashmir division while as 119 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 21,320 including 15,427 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 6,169 including 4,515 recoveries and 39 deaths.
They said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,027 including 5,412 from Kashmir division and 1,615 from Jammu division. With 640 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 19,942 which is 72.54 percent of the total cases.
Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,680 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 6,169.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 108 from Srinagar, 47 from Baramulla, 31 from Pulwama, 12 from Kulgam, 08 from Shopian, 31 from Anantnag, 37 from Budgam, 65 from Kupwara, 50 from Bandipora and 32 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 119 from Jammu division include 67 from Jammu, 04 from Rajouri, 04 from Ramban, 09 from Kuthua, 08 from Udhampur, 05 from Samba, 04 from Doda, 06 from Poonch, 08 from Reasi and 04 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 6,680 positive cases including 169 deaths and 4,633 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,351 including 86 deaths and 1,694 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,016 including 1,401 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Pulwama,1,688 including 1,461 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,553 including 24 deaths and 1,448 recoveries are from Shopian, 1,709 including 37 deaths and 1,331 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,677 including 1,714 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Budgam, 1,459 including 1,094 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,301 including 722 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Bandipora and 849 including 458 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ganderbal.
In Jammu division, 1,843 including 1087 recoveries and 27 deaths are from Jammu district, 778 including 636 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 623 including 573 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 645 including 536 recoveries and 01 death are from Kathua, 642 including 541 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 546 including 376 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 331 including 289 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 316 including 199 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Poonch, 265 including 120 recoveries are from Reasi and 180 including 158 recoveries are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 409,414 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 41,737 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,027 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 312,599 persons have completed surveillance period and 47,531 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 775,333 samples are available.
Out of 775,333 the number of samples tested negative stands at 747,844 while 27,489 have been tested positive, among them 7,027 are active and 19,942 persons have recovered. (KNO)
