Unable to bear her husband’s death, woman commits suicide

Uri/ Anantnag: In a shocking incident that has come to fore in north Kashmir’s in Uri town in Baramulla district, a 50-year old woman ended her life on Saturday morning after her husband’s body reached home.
The deceased woman is resident of Saidpora, Uri.
Official sources told that 50-year old Aulad Ali Shah son of Mang Shah was admitted to GMC Baramulla and dies on Saturday morning due to heart attack.
Later when his dead body reached home and people were preparing for his last rites, his wife consumed some poisonous substance and she was shifted to SDH Uri were doctors declared her as brought dead.
Aulad Ali was an employee of J&K Gareem bank and was posted at Pringal Boniyar Branch.
“As per the primary investigation, it came to the fore that the woman couldn’t bear the loss of her husband and had consumed some poisonous substance,” SHO Uri Mohammad Ashraf said.
“We are investigating the matter,” he said adding “The body will be handed over to the family after completing the legal formalities.”
Meanwhile, another youth committed suicide in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Officials said that a 21-year old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Utrasoo area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday.
An official said that the youth (name withheld) from Kandaji Brariangan hanged himself at his home this morning and died on spot.
The official said that it was not immediately known as to why the youth took this extreme step. “Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings in this regard,” he said. (with inputs from GNS, KNO)
