Four notorious drug peddlers held in north Kashmir

Srinagar: Police Thursday said that it arrested four ‘hardcore’ drug peddlers in Kralgund area of North Kashmir’s Handwara.
Police said that, acting swiftly on reliable information, a police party raided Badrah Payeen area of Handwara and apprehended persons identified as Tawseef Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Rasool Dar resident of Badrah Payeen, Muzamil son of Nazir Ahmad Resident of Noor Bagh Sopore and Junaid Ah Peer son of Ghulam Mohammad Peer resident of Tujer Shareef Sopore.
During search narcotic substances (brown sugar/heroine)more than 50grms were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Kralgund where they are in police lockup, a police spokesman said.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 74/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been initiated, he added.
Meanwhile, one more notorious drug peddler identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Mir @ Chakoo son of Ghulam Nabi Mir of Beighpora Kralgund was also arrested.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 75/2020 U/S 8/21 NDPS Act under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Kralgund and investigation has been initiated, the spokesman added.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the said accused persons are notorious drug peddlers who were supplying drugs among the youth in the area.
