Dilapidated condition of Kaigam-Hari road troubles commuters

Pulwama: The dilapidated condition of the all important Kaigam-Hari road in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district is annoying the local residents.
While showing concern over the deplorable condition of the road, the residents of Hari, Kaigam and Parigan and its adjacent areas said the road is in a very bad condition and no attention is being provided towards repairing of the road.
The road is in a bad condition since the past five years and has developed muddy potholes making commuting an arduous job, the locals said.
They said that the local administration has failed to take any initiative for the maintenance and upkeep of this vital road link.
“At some places the road is in such a bad condition that even vehicles fail to pass over it,” said Mukhtar Ahmad, a local resident.
He said that in other areas even link roads have been macadmised but due to unknown reasons this vital road has been left out.
This road also needs widening as the road is very narrow at various points making it difficult for two vehicles to pass through simultaneously, another local added.
They urged the concerned authorities to expedite the repairmen work on the road so that the people do not suffer anymore.
Meanwhile, Executive Engineer R&B division Pulwama, Mohammad Yousuf Tramboo, when contacted said that part of the road has already been macadmised.
He said that the remaining road will be macadmised very soon.
