Two youth go missing in south Kashmir

Both likely to have joined militant ranks: Sources

Anantnag: Two more youth one each from Anantnag and Kulgam districts in south Kashmir have gone missing and have likely joined militant ranks.
The two youth who went missing have been identified as Shahbaz Ahmad Shah resident of Katrooso Kulgam and Ilyas Ahmad resident of Danwethpora Kokernag Anantnag.
Shahbaz Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Hassan Shah resident of Katrooso according to his family went missing three weeks back and since then there are no traces of him.
His father Ghulam Hassan said that he left home in the morning for picnic however, he don’t return back after which we tried to contact him but to no avail.
“We contacted all our relatives as well as his friends but couldn’t get any information about him. Thereafter we lodged his missing report at the concerned police station,” he said.
His family members requested everyone including the militant outfits to let him return back to the family.
“He was planning to go to Kuwait for a job but due to the lockdown the plan got delayed,” said Hassan.
Meanwhile, a senior police official said that he has joined banned outfit Jaish e Mohammed and he has been included in list of militants.
Ilyas Ahmad Dar son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a driver by profession, according to his family went missing a week back.
“We contacted all relatives and his friends but no one was able to provided any clue about him and later we lodged a missing report at the concerned police station,” said his relatives.
A senior police official posted in the area while confirming that his missing report was lodged said that it is quite likely that he too has joined Hizbul Mujahideen.
