Kashmir reports five Covid-19 deaths, 441 positive cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported five more deaths due to covid-19, taking the fatality count due to the virus in J&K to 236, officials said on Saturday.
Official sources said that one death each was reported from Bandipora, Budgam, Kulgam, Anantnag and Pulwama districts.
Among the deaths, sources said that three were reported at SKIMS Soura and two at SMHS hospital.
Regarding Bandipora, they said, an 80-year-old covid-19 positive died at SKIMS Soura late last night.
The octogenarian was admitted on July 11 as a case of “hypertension, Community Acquired Pneumonia with shock with MODS.” “She died at 11.p.m. last night,” a senior doctor at SKIMS said.
With these deaths, 219 people in Kashmir and 18 in Jammu have died so far due to the covid-19.
Regarding Anantnag one, they said, the deceased was a 55-year-old from Sallar with “COPD, diabetes and bilateral pneumonia.”
Srinagar district with 59 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla (48), Kulgam (24), 18 each in Shopian, Anantnag and Budgam, Kupwara (13), 11 each in Jammu and Pulwama , Bandipora (5), Ganderbal (4), Doda (2) and one each in Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri, and Kathua.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir reported 441 fresh covid-19 infections including 57 travelers, taking overall case tally past 13000-mark in J&K.
Official sources said that Kashmir Valley reported 398 fresh cases while 43 were confirmed in Jammu division, taking total count to 13198.
Among the cases, Srinagar reported 124, Baramulla 63, Kulgam 25, Shopian 27, Anantnag 47, Kupwara 2 Pulwama 48, Budgam 41, Bandipora 5, Ganderbal 16, Jammu 15, Kathua 3, Rajouri 6, Udhampur 2, Samba 12, Doda 4 and Reasi 1.
In Kashmir, Srinagar tops the list with 2611 cases followed by Baramulla with 1527, Kulgam 1140, Shopian 1082, Anantnag 1032, Kupwara 833, Pulwama 842, Budgam 749, Bandipora 428 and Ganderbal 267.
Similarly, in Jammu division, Jammu has 584 cases followed by Kathua with 352, Rajouri 339, Udhampur 324, Ramban 318, Samba 328, Doda 158, Poonch 152, Kishtwar 68 and Reasi 64.
Official sources said that among the fresh cases, 96 were confirmed at SKIMS Soura lab and includes 21 travelers, 32 from Srinagar, 18 from Anantnag, six from Baramulla, four each from Budgam and Ganderbal, three each from Pulwama and Bandipora, two each from Ramban and one each from Shopian, Beerwah Budgam and Kulgam.
