Kangan Land Slide: Srinagar-Leh highway closed for second consecutive day

Ganderbal: The Srinagar-Leh highway remained closed for second consecutive day Saturday after a massive landslide occurred at Bonibagh area of Kangan on Friday afternoon.
Though there was no loss of life during the incident two residential houses and a shopping complex consisting at least 20 shops collapsed completely besides few vehicles also suffering damages.
An official of Border Roads Organisation (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway said that they have already put men and machinery into service.
“It will take more hours to clear the debris from the highway,” he added.
Meanwhile, the road was still closed for traffic when last reports came in.
