Two persons die while cleaning well in Kupwara village
Kupwara: Two persons including a ward member died while cleaning a well in Chalgund Halmatpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday afternoon.
Locals said that two persons died inside a well and later were retrieved by a joint team of Police, SDRF and locals at Chalgund Halmatpora village.
They said that the victims fell unconscious while cleaning a well at Ganai Mohalla in Halmatpora following which a police team was rushed to the spot.
“Later the duo was retrieved by a joint team of police, SDRF and locals after hectic efforts.”
The deceased have been identified as Ghulam Nabi and Mahad Ganaie-both the residents of Chalgund Halmatpora. Ghulam Nabi was also a ward member, reports said.
Block medical officer Kupwara, Dr. Zaffar Akbar said that the duo was brought dead to hospital and further medical procedure was being followed besides a postmortem is also being conducted. (KNO)
