Kulgam Encounter: JCO among three soldiers injured, operation continues
Srinagar, July 04: A Junior Commissioned officer was among three soldiers who were injured in an ongoing encounter in Arrah area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Official sources said that in an ongoing firefight three soldiers including JCO recieved minor injuries. All the three been evacuated to 92 Base hospital for treatment.
One militant was also killed in initial exchange of firing, the official added.
Pertinently, 120 militants have been killed so far this year in the Valley.
Earlier, according to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s 34RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Arrah village.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(GNS)
