Over 37 % positive cases in JK are from south Kashmir

Anantnag: Over 37 percent cases of Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir have been reported in four districts of south Kashmir.
As per official figures, out of 6422 total cases in J&K, 2391 were reported in Anantnag, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts which is 37.23 percent of the total cases in Jammu and Kashmir.
In Kashmir division alone there are 4988 total cases and among them 2391 have been reported from South Kashmir which is 47.93 percent of the total cases.
Similarly in Kulgam district there are 711 positive cases, highest in south Kashmir including 227 travellers besides 126 recoveries and 11 deaths.
In Kulgam the number of active cases are 211 while as 489 persons have recovered so far.
Notably, Anantnag, which was the last district in valley to witness its first case of Covid-19, has 622 cases including 37 travellers.
The total number of active cases in Anantnag are 173 and 443 have recovered and 6 have died.
Shopian district has 671 total positive cases including 35 travellers besides 452 recoveries and 10 deaths.
Hirpora village in the district was the first hotspot of Covid-19 where almost all patients have recovered, however, new villages like Kiloora are emerging as new hotspots of covid-19.
In Pulwama, there are 387 positive cases including 19 travelers besides that 163 patients have recovered and four have died.
Notably, Pulwama district was declared covid-19 free after all patients from the district had recovered last month however, cases started to surge again and there are over a dozen red zones in the district.
However, after Reshiepora, Rohmoo village is emerging as new hotspot of covid-19. The village has been declared as a d red zone with containment directives issued for ten days.
