Graft Case: ACB files charge sheet against revenue official

Jammu: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has filed a charge sheet against a revenue official in a two-year-old graft case in Kathua district, an agency spokesman said on Wednesday.
The charge sheet was filed in the court of Additional Sessions Judge, Anti-Corruption, Kathua, against the then Patwari, Halqa Khokhyal, Nazakat Ali, who was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 4,000 for conducting the demarcation of land in village Lakhnote-Nagri on December 3, 2018, the spokesman said.
He said the revenue official was trapped on the complaint of a person called Ram Pal, who had alleged that the official demanded illegal gratification for demarcation of his land, despite depositing Rs 100 as demarcation fee.
The accused Patwari was arrested while taking the bribe money and the investigation was concluded under various sections of the Prevention of corruption Act, he said. (PTI)
