India, Pak army engage in cross LoC shelling in Machil sector
Srinagar, June 18: Pakistani army on Thursday afternoon violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A defence spokesman said that Pakistan army initiated an unprovoked CFV along the LoC in Machil sector by firing mortars and other weapons.
“The Indian army personnel were giving a ‘strong and befitting’ response to the ceasefire violation,” he said, adding that further details are being ascertained.
Heavy shelling was going on in the area however, there was no immediate report of any causality on either side.
