Youth goes missing during trekking

Kangan, June 16: A youth from Srinagar has gone missing during trekking to Gangabal Lake in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.

One of his relative posted on social networking site Facebook that a group of six youth from Srinagar went for picnic to Naranag Kangan and from there they decided to go for a trekking to famous Gangbal Lake.

“Five among the friends returned back on the same day however, Hilal Ahmad Dar from Bemina Srinagar didn’t return back,” he wrote.

The family of missing youth has already approached Police Station Kangan and lodged a missing report besides seeking help to trace out their missing son.

An official identified the missing youth as Hilal Ahmed Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud- din Dar resident of Bemina Srinagar.

“We have already deputed a police team to the spot to trace out the missing youth,” the official said adding that they are hopeful that they will be able to trace out the youth soon.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Mountaineering And Hiking Club has also launched a search and rescue operation to trace him out.
