Rains, hailstorm damages crops, houses in Sopore
Sopore: Several residential houses, orchards, and standing crop besides a school suffered extensive damages after gusty winds followed by rains, hailstorm hit various parts of north Kashmir including Sopore.
Reports said various villages of Zaingeer belt of Sopore including Bomai, Janwara, Hathlangoo, Botingoo and other nearby areas came to a standstill after hit by strong winds and hailstorm.
Roof tops of several residential houses were damaged also besides damage to standing crops and orchards at many places in Sopore was also recorded.
The residents and farmers of the affected areas appealed the administration to depute teams from Revenue department to assess the amount of losses caused by hail and windstorms.
They also demanded compensation for the loses.
