Encounter in Shopian south Kashmir leaves four militants dead, 3 security men injured

Srinagar, June 08: Four militants were killed in a gunfight with government forcesĀ in Pinjora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.
Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar (IPS) said that four militants were killed in the operation, it was clean and swift. However, he said, the identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently, just barely 18 hours back five Hizb militants were killed in Reben area of the same district.
Earlier, according to the reports, a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Pinjora.
As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter. (GNS)
