Poppy crops destroyed in Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Excise Department, Kashmir has destroyed illicit poppy crop spread over a total of 178 kanals 19 malras of land in various districts of Kashmir division.
Deputy Excise Commissioner, Kashmir said that the Excise enforcement teams headed by Excise & Taxation Officer South Kashmir, Excise & Taxation officer North Kashmir and Excise and Taxation Officer Central Kashmir destroyed the illicit poppy crop on June 04 and June 05 in Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Bandipora, Ganderbal Baramulla and Budgam areas.
The department as per statement issued here informed that, so far illicit poppy crop spread over 2423 kanals 06 malras has been destroyed and the drive shall continue till all illicit poppy crops in Kashmir is destroyed.
