Soldier killed as Pakistan shells forward areas on LoC
Jammu: An Army soldier was killed when Pakistan troops resorted to firing and shelling along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Thursday night, official sources said.
The Pakistan army targeted the forwards areas in Sunderbani sector, they added.
A soldier was killed in the ceasefire violation, the sources said.
Official sources identified the slain soldier as Havildar Mathiazhagan P and another injured has been identified as Havaldar MM Karan.
Meanwhile the injured soldier was shifted to Military Hospital Akhnoor for treatment.
An army officer told that the Indian side retaliated effectively inflicting heavy losses on the other side. (with PTI inputs)
