Police recovers ‘kidnapped girl’ from Kupwara
Sopore: Police on Thursday claimed to have recovered a ‘kidnapped’ girl from Lolab area of Kupwara in north Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that they received a complaint that a girl (name with held) has been kidnapped by a youth identified as Ovais Khaliq Sheikh son of Abdul Khaliq Sheikh of Rawoocha Rafiabad.
On receipt of this complaint a case FIR No 59/2020 U/S 363 IPC was registered and investigations were set into motion, the spokesman said.
He said that during the course of investigation, a SIT was constituted and headed by SHO Dangiwacha and while acting on some specific leads, the girl was recovered from Lolab Kupwara within 24 hours after registration of case and the accused was arrested.
