Spike in Covid-19 cases: Travellers constitute around 45% of patients in JK

Srinagar: Around 45 percent of positive Covid-19 cases in Jammu and Kashmir constitute the travellers entering the region from different countries and various other states.
As per officials, among 2857 cases 1266 are travellers which constitute 44.47 percent of the total cases detected positive in J&K.
In Kashmir out of 2185 total cases 737 are travellers which constitute 33.72 percent of cases detected in the division.
Furthermore in Jammu division out of 672 positive cases 529 are travellers which constitute 78.73 percent of total cases detected in the division.
In Anantnag, out of 350 cases, 26 are travellers which means share of travellers in district in just 0.7 percent while as out of 313 cases 210 are travellers which constitute 67 percent of total cases detected in the district.
In Srinagar out of 319 cases 156 are travellers which constitutes 48.9 percent of the total cases detected in the district while as out of 299 cases 169 were travellers in Kupwara which is 56.52 percent of the total cases.
Similarly in Baramulla the share of travellers is 19.48 percent, 13.04 percent in Bandipora, 8.7 percent in Shopian, 33.06 percent in Budgam, 13.52 percent in Ganderbal and 36.19% in Pulwama.
In Jammu districts the share of travelers among the positive cases is 62.87 percent in Jammu district, 86.27 percent in Ramban, 91.25 percent in Kuthua, 70.83 percent in Udhampur, 87.5 percent in Samba, 93.22 percent in Poonch, 82.5 percent in Rajouri, 71.42 percent in Reasi, 66.67 percent in Kishtiwar and 74.07 percent in Doda.
Pertinently, around 1 lakh 10 thousand residents of Jammu and Kashmir have been evacuated so far from different states, Union Territories besides other countries.
