Man dies after falling from tree, officials say will be tested for Covid-19

Srinagar: A 45 year-old man died after falling from a Walnut tree in Gund Siligam area of Anantnag district on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified Farooq Ahmad Najar of Gund Siligam.
BMO Mattan Dr Saleem Beigh said that the family members of the deceased were demanding that the dead deceased should be spared from undergoing a postmortem as it is evident that the person died because of falling from the tree.
However, he said, they have been asked to seek permission from Deputy Commissioner Anantnag.
“We have directed his sample be taken for Covid-19 in accordance with MHA guidelines as the deceased man hails from a red zone area,” the BMO added.
A Police officer also confirmed the incident and said that investigations are underway. (GNS)
