Srinagar, June 01: The Jammu and Kashmir police Monday claimed to have busted a narco militant module working with  Pakistan based prescribed outfit JeM and transporting arms, ammunition to active militants in the Kashmir  valley.

Officials said that a narco militant module linked with banned militant outfit Jaish  e Mohammad was busted and six people involved were apprehend along with incriminating material.

“Acting on a specific input, Budgam police along with 50 RR army and D/29 CRPF busted a narco Militant module linked with banned Militant outfit JEM in Chadoora area of district Budgam,” a police statement said.

“06 militant associates identified as, Mudassir Fayaz of Kralpora, Shabir Ganaie of Wathoora, Sageer Ahmad Poswal of Kupwara, Issaq Bhat of Shopian, and Arshid Thoker of Shopian, have been arrested,” the statement said, adding that one Chinese pistol ,one Pistol Magazine, four  Pistol rounds, one Hand grenade, one kg Heroine and cash amounting of  Rs.1,55,000 were recovered,” police said.

“As per initial investigation it has been revealed that this module was working in close connection with Pakistan based Militant handlers and were involved in drug trade, supply of weapons and money to active Militants of proscribed outfit JEM,” police added.
