Gas agency, 09 shopkeepers booked for defying govt orders

Srinagar: Police Saturday sealed a gas agency and booked nine shopkeepers in various areas of Srinagar for defying lockdown orders.
A police spokesman said that acting tough against the violators of prohibitory orders, police have booked 09 shopkeepers for defying restriction orders in Srinagar, besides seized Gas Agency at Hassanul Bannat Colony Umerhair area of Srinagar.
Officers city centre booked 09 shopkeepers for defying prohibitory orders imposed by Govt. Accordingly, Police have registered cases vide FIR numbers 137/2020, 138/2020, 139/2020, 140/2020, 141/2020, 142/2020 and 143/2020 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sadder and further investigations into the cases have been initiated.
In the jurisdiction of PS Soura, Police alongwith Tehsildar Eidgah seized ‘Hamdan Gas Agency’ at Hassanul Bannat Colony Umerhair 90-feet Road. The store along with 400 cylinders has been sealed by concerned Tehsildar.
In this regard Police have registered a case FIR No.52/2020 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Soura and investigation has been initiated.
The spokesman once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restrictions will be dealt strictly.
