Appeals higher ups to ensure their free movement

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Technical Employees Federation Tuesday castigated the administration and power management for non availability of transport facility to field employees in times of this pandemic.
The Federation also alleged that they are being harassed by law enforcing agencies who don’t allow them to move freely.
“We face abuses and humiliation in Srinagar during our movement from one place to another. Our Field Staff has now become habitual to tolerate insults and abuses who are being stopped frequently and pushed back,” Secretary, JKTEF, Shakeel Ahmed said in a statement.
The Federation said that though, the Chief Engineer KPDCL had already ordered to subordinate offices to hire private vehicles for free movement of field employees for maintaining power supply, but the order was not implemented on ground, causing lot of inconvenience to employees performing their essential duties.
It said that recently Field Staff led by Muhammad Hayat Bhat working at Feeder No.5 of Receiving Station Silk Factory which is feeding power supply to LD Hospital, SSP Srinagar office, and other essential installations were not allowed by men in uniform. “It is a routine for our filed staff to face problems.”
“We appeal higher authorities to ensure the free and safe movement of PDD field staff,” the statement said.
