Search operation launched in Pulwama, Sopore villages
Srinagar, May 18: A massive Cordon and search operation has been launched by government forces in many area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Monday.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, army’s 55, 53 RR and 182BN, 183BN of CRPF launched cordon search operation in Rahmoo, Goosu, Murran, Ashmandar and other adjacent areas.
As per the official sources search operation was started around 2:00 am in these areas by the joint forces after receiving specific information about the presence of militants.
Door to door searches were conducted in these areas.
Meanwhile, forces on late Sunday night launched a cordon and search operation in Pazalpora area of Rafiabad Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, reports said.
They said that Army’s 22RR, SOG of J&K police and CRPF jointly launched a search operation at Pazalpora area of Rafiabad belt in the jurisdiction of district police Sopore.
A police official said that following inputs about the presence of militants in the area, the CASO was launched.
Reports said that all entry and exit points of the area were sealed by forces and house to house searches were conducted. Even flood lights were installed during the night.
