Ganderbal: Students who are under administrative quarantine on Saturday complained about poor quality of food being served to them at a quarantine centre in Gadoora area of Ganderbal.
The students said that they are being served unhygienic and poor quality food at Physical Education College, which was turned into quarantine centre after the outbreak of Covid-19.
They said that even though the accommodation is good with fully furnished bedrooms but the food being served there is unhygienic. They also alleged that they have not been provided masks, sanitizers and other preventive equipments.
“We don’t have any symptoms but we were put under quarantine because we have arrived from outside. We don’t complain about that why we have been quarantined but the facilities here are not up to the mark,” a student complained.
He said that the food being served to them was of poor quality and during dinner cold rice and soup is served to them.
“When we arrived here we were provided a 500 ml water bottle and nothing else. We may be suspects but we deserve some respect,” the students said.
They said that they tried to raise the issue with concerned deputy commissioner but nothing was done so far to redress their grievance.
When contacted in charge officer of the quarantine centre he said that he has taken note of the complaints and assured that the issue will be redressed. (KNO)
