LeT module busted in Budgam and Pulwama, five arrested

Srinagar: Security forces have arrested five LeT associates and busted a hideout in Budgam district, police sources said Saturday.
They said that acting on a reliable information, Police, 53 RR army and 153 Bn CRPF during a search operation, arrested one LeT associate of LeT who was identified as Zahoor Wani from village Arizal of Khansaib.
On his disclosure a hideout was also discovered which was used by militants to take shelter, the source added.
From the hideout various incriminating material, arms and ammunition were also recovered. During further investigation, four other associates identified as Younis Mir, Aslam Sheikh, Parwaiz Sheikh and Rehman Lone, all residents of Khansaib, were also arrested. They were involved in providing logistic support and shelter to LeT militants, the source added
This group was active in the area for last few months, he said.
In this regard, case under relevant provisions of law has been registered in PS Khansaib and investigation taken up, the police source said.
Meanwhile, forces busted a hideout in Pulwama as well and recovered arms and ammunition from the spot.
A police official said that on a specific input, a joint party of army’s 55 RR, Police and CRPF launched a search operation in village Chakura resulting in recovery of a cache of arms, ammunition, explosives, other warlike stores and incriminating material belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen.
The officer giving details of recovery said that one SLR, two Pistol, IED material including huge quantity of explosives, batteries and detonators were recovered.
