Sopore : Scores of Asha workers working at SDH Sopore held a protest against the higher ups of health department of Sopore on Friday.
The protesters alleged that they were working on meager incentives which too remain pending for months together.
They said a good number of Asha workers at SDH Sopore are not getting protective kits to carry out the work.
“Now that so many Asha workers were working in containment zones and are going for door to door to identify infected persons are putting themselves at risk,” the protesting workers said.
They said that very few Asha workers were given to PPE kits.
While shouting slogans against health department the protesting Asha workers also sought cancellation of recent transfer orders wherein several officials were shifted.
Meanwhile, a health official said that Asha workers are provided gloves, masks and they did not require PPE kits, as they are supposed to maintain social distancing while collecting information from people during the door to door survey.
