7 Nowshera villages declared contaminant zone

Five as buffer zone after fresh positive case

Rajouri: At least seven villages of Rajouri’s Nowshera Tehsil have been declared as contaminant while five others are buffer zone after a woman from the area was tested positive on Friday evening.
A 32-year-old woman, from Kalsiyan village of Nowshera, having travel history of Delhi was tested positive on Friday evening.
Official sources said that a woman, who was in Delhi with her husband who serves in Indian Air Force (IAF), was shifted to COVID dedicated hospital whereas her sixteen family members have been isolated as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Around 40-50 persons who had come into her contact have been identified, they said. District Magistrate Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh said that a special helpline desk has been established at Nowshera to facilitate those in need in best possible manner. He added that law enforcement agencies and field officials have been asked to ensure strict restrictions in contaminant zone as well as in buffer zone. He said seven villages have been categorized as contaminant zone and five as buffer zone.
District Magistrate added that all other SOPs have been followed and patient’s house was also sanitized on Saturday morning. (KNO)
