Nocturnal gunfight breaks out in Kulgam in south Kashmir
Srinagar, May 14: A nocturnal gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Yamrach of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of Police, army’s 34RR and CRPF launched cordon search operation in Yamrach following specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.
A senior police officer also confirmed about the exchange of fire between forces and militants. As per the sources two to three militants believed to be trapped. (GNS)
