19, including 12 shopkeepers booked for defying lockdown
Srinagar: Acting tough against the violators of Government prohibitory orders, police arrested 19 persons including 12 shopkeepers in Srinagar and Ganderbal. Police also seized 12 vehicles for defying lockdown orders over COVID-19.
In Srinagar, police arrested 12 shopkeepers from Jehlum Market Batamaloo for defying government orders. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at PS Shaheed Gunj and further investigation into the cases has been initiated.
Similarly in Ganderbal, police arrested seven drivers and seized 12 vehicles loaded with the construction material from Duderhama and Wahidpora areas of Ganderbal. Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered and further investigation into the cases has been initiated.
Police have once again requested the general public to follow the restrictions imposed by Government in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and those who are violating the restriction orders will be dealt strictly.
