2 Militants Killed In Sharshali Pulwama

Srinagar: Two militants were killed in an encounter with government forces at Sharshali Khrew village of Awantipora in Pulwama district.

Acting on a tip-off about the presence of militants in the village, the government forces launched a cordon and search operation. It turned into an encounter after militants opened fire towards them, officials said. The government forces retaliated, killing the two militants, they told GNS.

In all four militants were killed on Wednesday and comes three days after eight army, CRPF and police personnel, including two Army officers Colonel Ashutosh Sharma and Major Anuj Sood, and police ASI were killed in Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. (GNS)
