Over 150 cattle perishes during lightening, thunderstorm
Rajouri: Some families of nomadic Bakerwals undergoing seasonal migration towards hilly areas suffered a major damage on Tuesday after more than one hundred sheep and goats were killed due to lightning and thunderstorms in a Rajouri village.
Officials said that three nomadic families from Kalakote Tehsil were on their seasonal move and were spending the night under open sky at Potha village of Rajouri when natural lightning and thunderstorms struck the area at about 2 AM in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
“More than one hundred goat and sheep were killed which resulted in heavy losses for the poor families.” they said.
Police have registered a case in Kalakote police station, the officials added. (KNO)
