JK adds 27 fresh cases to its list of COVID-19

Srinagar: Thirteen members of two families from Rainwari here were among 27 persons who tested positive for novel coronavirus in last 24 hours, pushing the number of Covid-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir to 666 on Saturday.
Official sources said that among the fresh cases in the Valley, six were confirmed at Viral Diagnostic Lab of SKIMS Soura and include three each from Shopian and Baramulla districts.
However, most of the cases, 19, were confirmed at the COVID-19 testing laboratory at Chest Disease hospital Dalgate and include 15 from Srinagar and four from Anantnag district.
The cases from Srinagar include eight members of a family an elderly woman from Rainawari who died earlier this week. They include a 60-year-old man, his 55-year-old wife, their 25-year-old and 25-year-old sons besides the 23-year-old woman and her 19-year-old brother besides a 6-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman.
The five others from the same family include 33-year-old Imam (prayer leader), his 30-year-old wife and their 2-year-old son and two daughters—one of them 4-year-old and other 5-year-old. Sources said that they are actually from Lolab Kupwara and are residing in Batpora area of Rainwari from the last few years.
The two other cases from the Srinagar include a 33-year-old from Narwara Eidgah and a nursing orderly at LD hospital, originally a resident of Samba and is putting up in a guest house at Solina area of Srinagar.
Anantnag district reported four more cases and includes 3-year-old and 6-year-old boys from Larnoo besides 46-year-old and 48-year-old men from Trehwani Anantnag.
The three cases from Shopian include an 11-year-old boy and two women—one of them 45-years-old and other 55-years-old from Heerpora, one of the worst-hit areas in south Kashmir district.
The cases from Baramulla include 20-year-old from Hardchiloo Tangmarg and a 40-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man from Kanlibagh.
Samba in the Jammu division reported two fresh cases, taking the number of Covid-19 patients in the district to six even as four of them have recovered already
Meanwhile, the government said that seven more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals of Kashmir Division Saturday.
It said out of 23460 test results available, 22794 samples have tested as negative till May 02, 2020.
Furthermore, till date 74083 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which include 9816 persons in-home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 188 in Hospital Quarantine, 404 in hospital isolation and 7174 under home surveillance. Besides, 56493 persons have completed their surveillance period.
With these cases, Bandipora has 128 positive cases (91 active) followed by Srinagar with 106 cases (35 active), Anantnag 99 (97 active), Baramulla 88 (59 active), Shopian 77 (58 active), Kupwara 55 (34 active), Budgam 21 (10 active), Ganderbal 14 (no active case), 11 Kulgam (8 active, Pulwama 7 (4 active .”
Similarly, Jammu has 26 positive cases and all of them have recovered followed by Udhampur 20 (2 Active, Samba 6 (2 active), Rajouri 4 (1 active), Kathua, Kishtwar, Ramban and Reasi district have none case each and all of them are ‘active positive’. (with inputs from GNS)
