Ganderbal declared COVID-19 free

Ganderbal: Authorities on Saturday declared Ganderbal district as Covid-19 free as one more positive patient was discharged after recovery who was also the last patient of Covid-19 in the district.
Nodal Officer for Covid-19 in Ganderbal, Dr. Yasmeena said that the patient was the last patient in the district and he has been discharged after recovery from district hospital Ganderbal.
“There were 14 patients in our district all of them have now recovered and discharged. All of them have been put under quarantine for 14 days and have been asked to take all necessary precautions,” she said.
Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafkat Iqbal said that all the patients have been allowed to go home and regular medical check-up of the patients will be done by surveillance teams during home quarantine to ensure safety.
He said that the effort in combating the epidemic of frontline warriors have achieved flying results. He also complimented efforts of medical department, police and all other departments for working together and tirelessly to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in the district.
Pertinently, most number of positive COVID-19 cases belonged to village Guzhama and one was from Gutlibagh village of Ganderbal which had been declared as red zones and all the necessary precautionary measures are being taken.
Officials from district administration and health department have urged people to follow all the advisories and preventive measures issued from government and medical authority. (KNO)
