Srinagar, Apr 30: After Handwara, it is now Beerwah village where leopards are creating havoc. Last night, a leopard had barged into a house in Handwara village before it was captured, however, the wild cat injured six persons.

Today, a herd of leopards were seen in Mulshulla village of Beerwah Budgam. People ran away after seeing 3 to 4 leopards in the village roaming quite freely, witnesses said.

“We made many calls to Wild Life Department but there was no response from them. We are worried about the people especially small children,” Irshad Ahmed, a local, said.

He said there are 4 leopards still present in the village while people are scared and are not willing to come out.

When contacted, an official from Wild Life Department said that a team will be dispatched to the village and we will try to capture the leopards. (KNT)
