Provides phone numbers for helpline which do not work
Srinagar: Much to the inconvenience of the people, the phone numbers circulated by Resident Commissioner Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi are out of order.
Additional Resident Commissioner J&K, New Delhi Niraj Kumar published at least four phone numbers for those labourers, students, employees, patients and migrants who are stuck anywhere outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Ironically, none of these numbers are working. The mobile number 7827887143 and 9971037443 are switched off while two other numbers, 9717355186 and 9810314773 have been put on busy mode.
A woman from Srinagar said that her father is stuck in Kolkatta and despite attempting repeatedly none of the phone numbers is functional.
“I myself tried these four phone numbers but they are not working. Even, Additional Resident Commissioner, Niraj Kumar didn’t bother to pick up the phone,” she said adding that government is taking helpless people for a ride.
Another youth whose brother is stuck in New Delhi said that Resident Commissioner JK has befooled people by circulating those phone numbers which are non-functional.
“This is a bizarre. First they gave publicity to their so called efforts on social media and make them viral but on ground they befool common people,” he said.
Efforts to contact Additional Resident Commissioner, Niraj Kumar couldn’t materialize as he didn’t pick up the phone. (KNT)
