COVID-19: 17 patients including a non-local discharged from hospitals

Srinagar: Seventeen persons, who were hospitalized after testing positive for Coronavirus last month, were discharged from three Kashmir hospitals after repeatedly testing negative for the infection they had contracted, officials said Saturday.
Among these 17 persons, one is a non-local from Kerala who was tested positive after coming in contact with a Tableegi Jamat member.
Nodal Officer for Coronavirus at JLNM Rainawari Hospital, Dr Bilquis said that five patients were discharged from the hospital after their recovery from lethal COVID-19 infection.
She added that among the five, one patient was discharged from the hospital after 25 days as he was symptomatic and tested repeatedly positive four times before testing negative.
Dr Bilquees said that rest of the patients were asymptomatic and were discharged after 18 days from the hospital.
A medico at Kupwra said that two patients after recovering from Covid-19 infection were discharged. One among them is from the red zone Shah Wali Muqam and was the source of infection in the district.
Nodal Officer for Coronavirus, Dr Nouman Nazir at JVC SKIMS Bemina said that 10 patients were discharged from the hospital and among them one is from Kerala.
He said that among the discharged patients 5 are from Tangmarg, 1 from Bandipora and 3 are from Srinagar.
42 new positive cases of novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), all from Kashmir division, were reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 496. (KNT)
