Contact tracing: Authorities ask people treated by COVID positive medico to report back

Baramulla: Authorities in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district have asked the patient’s to report back to hospital authorities after a junior doctor tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla on Wednesday issued a circular asking the patients to report back to hospital authorities after a doctor who attended the patients tested positive.
“It’s for the information of those patients who visited district Hospital Baramulla between, 13-04-2020 from 10:00 am to 14-04-2020 upto 4:00 PM and have been examined by the doctor who was tested positive for COVID-19 may report directly to this hospital or call on helpline No. 7006231150 for medical advice,” an order issued by the CMO, Associated hospital Baramulla, said.
“It is pertinent to mention that all the patients are being contacted after taking their records from MRD department. Any patient with contact history with the said doctor shall invite punitive action in case of concealing his information,” read the order.
Pertinently, a doctor posted at Government district hospital/GMC Baramulla who was among the frontline health workers rendering services in designated isolation ward tested positive for novel coronavirus becoming the maiden doctor in entire Kashmir valley to have tested positive for the deadly virus.
