Covid-19: Police books two shopkeepers for lockdown violation

Srinagar, Apr 19: Police on Sunday booked two shopkeepers in Srinagar and Ganderbal districts for violating the COVID-19 lockdown.
Sources said that police arrested a shopkeeper for violating prohibitory orders at Safakadal.
A formal FIR vide number 45/2020 under section 188 was registered against the shopkeeper identified as Farooq Ahmed Hakroo son of Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Lattar Masjid Safakadal.
Similarly, police station Kheerbhawani in Ganderbal booked a shopkeeper identified as Ghulam Qadir Shiekh son of Abdul Rahid, a resident of Sheikh Mohalla Ganderbal. An FIR vide number 11/2020 under section 188 was registered against him.
Pertinently, Jammu Kashmir Police have lodged over 1000 cases, seized over 1200 shops and vehicles and booked over 2000 people to contain the spread of Covid-19 in erstwhile State. (KNT)
